Oilheat Supply

Thanks to a local storage facility coupled with many different suppliers, you are ensured that we always have a reliable supply for our customers. Having this arrangement also helps us to keep our prices at a competitive rate because we can buy in bulk and pass the savings on to you.

In addition to knowing that Blue Ribbon Fuel has an ample Oilheat supply, you'll be pleased to know that our nation boasts a plentiful supply as well. There are over 50 oil-producing countries, and the U.S. is not dependent on any one country or region for its supply. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve in the United States also has a capacity of 727 million barrels - the world's largest emergency oil stockpile - and the Northeast Heating Oil Reserve stores 2 million barrels.

Oilheat Benefits

  • Oilheat is competitively priced. Oilheat prices are low because supply is plentiful and there is tremendous competition at the retail level.

  • Oilheat is environmentally friendly. Residential Oilheat equipment creates such a negligible amount of emissions that heating oil is not even regulated by the Federal Clean Air Act. Oil storage tanks do not pose a threat to the environment because Oilheat is non-toxic, non-carcinogenic and biodegradable. Oilheat is a liquid that transports safely, unlike utility gas, which is a powerful ozone destroyer that leaks from aging and damaged pipelines.

  • Oilheat is efficient. Oilheat equipment is constantly evolving to incorporate advancements in efficiency and comfort. Today's boilers and furnaces use high-tech alloys and sophisticated electronics to enable flexible operation that can be customized to match actual conditions. Many new boilers are designed to incorporate weather-responsive controls that greatly reduce fuel usage during mildly cold weather and provide a more even heat with fewer temperature swings. Other important advancements include two-stage burners that conserve fuel and electronically commutated furnace blowers that save electricity, provide smoother operation and work well with high-efficiency central air conditioning systems.

  • Oilheat is safe. A fuel must be safe to be effective, and Oilheat is an exceptionally stable and safe energy product. Despite packing a robust 138,700 BTUs per gallon, Oilheat is not explosive, and it won't even burn if a lit match is dropped into it. (An oil burner heats oil to 140 degrees and atomizes it to make it ignite.)

  • Oilheat is convenient. With Oilheat, you have control over your fuel. Heating oil is stored safely in a corrosion-resistant storage tank on your property, so you don't have to worry about disruptions in your fuel supply.

  • Oilheat is dependable. The U.S. Oilheat industry is well positioned to deliver its fuel reliably. The raw materials come from the United States, Canada and other petroleum-producing countries and are processed in domestic refineries. A supply disruption is unlikely because the U.S. maintains the world's largest reserve supply: the 727 million barrel Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The U.S. also keeps two million barrels of heating oil in reserve. The flow of supply to customers is supported by numerous private bulk storage facilities that provide ready access close to home.

  • Oilheat taps into a renewable supply. America's Oilheat supply is being expanded with the introduction of renewable biofuel. Derived from plants and food byproducts, biofuel is environmentally friendly and boosts the U.S. economy with the creation of jobs in agriculture and fuel production and the potential to reduce petroleum imports. Biofuel is blended with traditional Oilheat to create Bioheat® fuel, which is approved by ASTM for use in all Oilheat applications. Oil-fired heating systems can use Bioheat® fuel without any modifications, and the emissions are cleaner.

  • Oilheat has a clean, green future. Oilheat will achieve a new level of cleanliness in the years ahead as dealers like Blue Ribbon transition to "ultra-low sulfur" heating oil blended with biofuel made from natural sources. This super-clean burning blend could become the preferred fuel for lowering greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S., according to the Energy Research Center.
