History

Blue Ribbon Fuel's history begins in Nutley, New Jersey, dating back to the early 1900s when the founder, Demetrio Olivo, began selling ice from a horse-drawn cart. In 1925 he began selling fuel (wood and coal). After World War II, the business was taken over by his son, Salvatore Olivo, who expanded the service area to Passaic and Bergen counties. Today third-generation brothers Sal and Frank, along with their mother Lucille, operate the business.
